It wasn’t hard to regress to a tween mindset-people are happy to point out how immature I am-but rather the subject matter. The fact is, my conversations at that age were simply not very pg-13 even before I was thirteen. But I made a conscious decision to make this story appropriate to most audiences despite the freedom of being your own editor and the openness of the Net. So I think there’s always going to be a tension between how kids talk and what I can represent here. On the other hand, I liked the glow I got from the light (another first in photoshop along with the glowing boar on page 5).
